NURSERY_titleimage

With much anticipation, we can now reveal the Deserving Mom Nursery! Let us tell you, we are thrilled with how it turned out!

VITALS: two cribs, one dresser, one changing table, one big comfy chair, three antique crates, two rugs, countless vintage items, 30 donated items from 22 Junk in the Trunk Vintage Market Vendors, and lots of love for these two little girls!

(At the end of this post, we have a video highlighting this project start to finish. Make sure to check it out!)

Josh and Laura Roth had a rough year. Finally pregnant after years of infertility, they were involved in a car crash totaling Josh’s vehicle. A couple of months later, thieves broke into their Tempe home, taking priceless family valuables and leaving a gaping hole in their side door. In addition, they had little time and money to pull a nursery together for the impending arrival of their twin girls. They were in need of a bright spot.

Megan Jacobs, Laura’s best friend, noticed our post on social media requesting nominations for a “deserving mom” who could use a Junk in the Trunk Vintage Market style makeover for a room in her home. Her kind and loving words about her friend won us over.

We selected Laura as our winner and surprised her in early February to let her know we would be invading her home and giving her the nursery of her dreams!

Here is what the nursery looked like that day…

The Roths had just painted it blue (“Lake Winnipeg” by Dunn Edwards) and stripped the floor for new carpet. They had one crib and a dresser, given to them at a shower. That was it. The babies were set to arrive in less than a month and our work was cut out for us!

We have an adorable dream catcher by Savannah Ashley, the cotton added the perfect dainty touch to the room and was donated by Junk in my Trunk Boutique and the yellow vintage drawer we used for holding diapers was donated by Patina Vintage Design.

Yes, you heard that right, Tess Rafols from Good Morning Arizona on 3TV came and shared the moment Josh and Laura saw their nursery for the first time with thousands of viewers. In case you missed it, here’s the video

We look forward to doing many more room makeovers in the future, but will always remember the Roth family as the first clients who trusted us with one of the most important rooms in their home. Thank you, Laura and Josh and congratulations on the birth of your beautiful girls!
